I replaced the systemmail mail() with PHPMailer... quite a good thing indeed.
But it needs testing if it works as intended.

Then I'll call it stable =)

to help - wonderful. But keep in mind that it will take months of wading
through the ugliest code we have in the tree. If you've got a weak stomach -
stay out. I've been there and it's not a nice place.

The call of "systemmail()" that invokes (if the user set this flag) an email-on-new-mail to his email address will now be carried out by PHPMailer.

If you want to use a different mailer, replace the stuff in lib/sendmail.php to your liking.

Though I would not recommend it, PHPMailer is quite a nice thing.

Are there any issues arousen with the new version that prevent you from releasing it ?
We all  (I don't know exactly how many) wait eagerly for it...
