Installation Help on Xtreemhost...
« on: November 07, 2009, 05:34:59 pm »
Hey, my friend needs some help on using the installer on xtreemhost.com.  It allows LotGDs, but we can't get it to work.  If you need more info, just ask what you want me to look at and I'll see if we did that or not.

Thanks.

Okay, here's the problems:

v1.1.1.2-nb is the version I'm running.
I've tried typing in what it told me to, but it brings me to the error page of xtreemhost.
I can't get to the installer.
Yes, I do have a database for it.
And I've read the installer, but I still can't figure out what went wrong.  I did upload the files to the cpanel.

Can you - like - give me an error description?

"cannot get it to work" does not help.

It should run everywhere. Check if they offer current php and mysql versions. (some problems on free hosts)

Download 1.2.1 as it fixes a lot of bugs that were in partly installer routines.
It should be fixed, but it won't be easy and it won't be fast. If you want
to help - wonderful. But keep in mind that it will take months of wading
through the ugliest code we have in the tree. If you've got a weak stomach -
stay out. I've been there and it's not a nice place.

Well, the admin on the game I play just told me what my major problem is... we downloaded a core that is for more advanced admins.  I myself got it to work on mine, but it just didn't work for my friend.  Mine ended up like this:
sitename.xtreemhost.com/index/home.php?
Of course that's not my site's url.
